DTM Funk

For well over a decade, DTM Funk has stood front and centre in Antwerp and the Belgian music scene. As a Deejay and as probably Belgium most interested curator/Promotor. As a Longtime Horst Festival & C12 regular DTM Funk gloriously manifested his position as one of Belgium’s most in-demand and versatile DJ’s around. He serves the common denominator between soul, groove and rhythm. Focusing on these three elements instead of being tied to any genres makes for some interesting choices. The San-Kofa Rhythm Record founder pleasantly guided an elated crowd through his eclectic record collection, ranging from percussion-driven groovers to Jazz funk/soul records & sexy and raw house gems. Whether it’s an early afternoon festival or closing down a dark club night, the dance floor will surely be moving.

Even before becoming a respected DJ, he was already promoting sounds and artists through his own events and curations for others. With a strong focus on local talent alongside a global perspective, he has remained above fleeting trends, creating safer spaces for auditive exploration of a different kind. Now, his focus is on his Black Gravity events, where he aims to represent and transform the legacy of Black club music through club nights, conversations, films, performances, exhibitions, and listening sessions.

As a curator, he possesses a unique ear for new music and emerging artists, immediately recognising hidden talent. He has provided a platform for rising Belgian stars like Alia, as well as international acts such as Carista, Suze Ijó, and many more — supporting them at crucial early stages of their careers, long before they were headlining major festivals and parties.
